Chabad in Toms River
Chabad Jewish Center opened in Toms River in the summer of 2004, to serve the Jewish needs of Ocean County, NJ.
Our philosophy stresses that every Jew, regardless of background or affiliation, is precious and an integral part of Jewish Unity. Every Jew is welcome to study, experience, and learn, at his or her own pace and comfort level.
In addition to our many programs and services, one of our primary functions is our Shul, synagogue.
For over 3 years, we have been holding Shabbat and holiday services. We now hold services every Shabbat morning.
The Torah is the central focal point of every synagogue. It is carried out, and kissed lovingly and then read from, as it teaches and inspires us for the week to come.
It is a great joy for us, and for the community at large, to take part in the monumental event of completing and welcoming the Torah, a rare and unique event that unites our entire community and connects us with generations bygone, going back to Mount Sinai.
